Overall Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Collaborate with Agency leaders to evaluate and strengthen policies and procedures and ensure dynamic processes in all phases of the Program Service Delivery Model – from enrollment to match closure – and across the Agency to enhance outcomes, effectiveness, stakeholder experience, and efficiency.
  • Skillfully leverage industry knowledge and expertise to offer intentional focus on national mentoring trends, implement innovative and evidence-based practices rooted in positive youth development that are aligned with broad Agency strategy and position BBBSCO for growth.
  • Oversee deliverables for multiple grant awards at local, state, federal, and foundation levels, ensuring compliance and successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the National Big Brothers Big Sisters Task Forces to review, refine, and elevate Program Standards of Practice across a variety of mentoring models. Collaborate with agency leaders as well as national BBBSA members to drive impact.
  • Oversee Agency-wide child safety and well-being work, including the Child Safety Task Force and trauma-informed practices.
  • Ensure compliance with BBBSA National Standards of Practice.
  • Serve as a key resource and strategic thought partner to senior leaders throughout the organization
  • Work in partnership with program leaders to identify opportunities for coaching and capacity building for program department team members

Data Driven Innovation

  • Assess and refine the organization’s existing strategy as needed, helping BBBSCO to achieve its mission and deliver on its strategic objectives; recommend programmatic and operational improvements, to drive and promote innovation and program evolution.
  • Partner with all appropriate departments including, 1:1 Programs, Camp Oty’Okwa, and the Engagement teams (enrollment, partnerships, events), as part of a broad knowledge management strategy to refine service delivery and outcomes
  • Promote a culture of reflection, learning, and data-based decision making among BBBSCO stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, and parents/guardians
  • Develop and manage the design, implementation and oversight of BBBSCO’s research and evaluation processes
  • Works in close cooperation with Chief Operating Officer and/or departmental leaders to design or modify specific data collection instruments for each BBBSCO department such as pre/post-tests, surveys, assessments, interview guides, and focus group protocols

Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate with Senior Impact Manager to analyze data, and prepare areports for internal use and external distribution summarizing analyzed results
  • Work closely with BBBSCO Engagement Team and Grants Manager to provide outcome information for proposals
  • Partner with Chief of Mission Engagement Officer to ensure that accurate and compelling data is integrated into marketing collateral and key communications messages in a personalized manner

Partnerships | Community & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Steward and cultivate high-level relationships with existing Program partners, such as school districts and other youth-service agencies in the communities we serve; act as the primary liaison to provide effective solutions for youth and families, contribute leadership ability within the community, and promote BBBSCO and its services.
  • Explore and evaluate local program innovations for creative and strategic partnerships as well as ways to potentially partner and expand program reach.
  • Establish relationships with community and corporate partners especially in the realm of support for our BBBSCO staff, families and volunteers.

To help achieve the mission of the agency, staff may have to assume additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the COO or their designee.

Requirements:

 


Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of five years’ professional experience overall, with experience in senior-leadership
  • Management and supervisory experience in a non-profit environment, preferably in a youth-serving/human service environment
  • Prior experience managing or overseeing research, evaluation, or performance management projects. This should include experience supervising staff, project budgeting and planning, and managing workflow
  • Experience working with databases, performance management systems, or other data collection systems
  • Extensive experience with spreadsheets, including use of Microsoft Excel. Ability to work with databases, (such as Microsoft Access and Excel, Salesforce and Power BI); experience with statistical analysis packages preferred
  • Experience leading cross-departmental projects composed of a high-performing team with diverse skill sets
  • Disciplined, structured and data driven approach to decision making and problem solving with a sharp focus on metrics, outcomes and results
  • Deep creativity and an ability to use data to uncover potential opportunities for growth and innovation across all departments
  • Communicates well with diverse groups of people; cross-functional collaboration is imperative, including with state-wide partners and BBBSA
  • Organized professional with superior written, verbal, and presentation skills, understanding of project management strategies, strong time-management skills, ability to work efficiently and effectively in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to design, modify, or administer written assessment instruments (pre/post tests and surveys) on youth development topics
  • Ability to provide ongoing staff training on data collection methods, evaluation concepts, and use of computers for data entry.
  • Must be willing to work 40=each workweek and be available at peak work periods for additional work hours
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as required
