Vice President / Transportation Lead West

Job Description

Moffatt & Nichol is searching for a Vice President / Transportation Lead West to join our team. The right candidate for this role will have strategic management and business development experience in the major western infrastructure markets for engineering and construction services including; highways and bridges, rail and transit, and water resources. Other infrastructure experience including port markets is also valued. The ideal candidate has no less than 20 years of experience in the A/E/C industry on the West coast targeting relationships to accelerate market growth, improve revenue generation, develop and build internal partnerships and external client and teaming relationships, and using proven methods to develop our business strategy.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Guides the development of strategic management and business development in major infrastructure markets in the western US for engineering and construction services including; highways and bridges, rail and transit, water and stormwater, ports, and freight corridors
  • Managed pursuit teams and all aspects of strategic business development
  • Develops potential new clients and develop these relationships into increased business
  • Works with team to develop proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Analyzes and focuses on new markets, mergers, and acquisitions, identifying business opportunities, increasing share of market, and obtaining competitive position in industry
  • Promotes organization in industry trade associations. Present an image that mirrors that of the client
  • Collaborate with design and sales teams to ensure that requirements are met
  • Strategic positioning and planning, teaming, contract negotiations, and government and client relations
  • Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning
  • Lead the development of top talent to ensure projects receive the right experitise to provide the highest quality service to our clients

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, architecture, construction or related area; required
  • 20+ years of experience in strategic management and business development in major infrastructure markets for engineering and construction services across the Western United States; required
  • Proven track record of building client relationships and winning business in the highway and bridge, rail and transit, water resourcesand preferably the port and waterfront industries; required
  • Experienced in Program Management on large infrastructure projects; required
  • Successfully built and trained an industry recognized team which has worked to identify and grow new and existing service lines in western US markets; required
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Must be willing to travel
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Base salary range:

$270,000 to $330,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.

Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California markets and may shift based on specific location.

Working conditions:

The work takes place mostly in an office environment. Must be able to work flexible hours (across multiple time zones) and to travel as and when required

Sit for long periods of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
