The starting annual base salary range for this position is $60,405.80-$70,000.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting daily HR processes and collaborating with other members of the department to support a positive employee experience. The role processes transactions efficiently and accurately within the Human Resources Information System related to all stages of the employment life cycle as well as recommends process audits, assessments, and continuous improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Consistently apply existing practices, procedures and collective bargaining agreements to process effective and accurate transactions that support the movement of employees through the many stages of the employment life cycle.
  • Serve as a point of contact for process and transaction questions as well as level 1 user questions about the Human Resources portions of Workday.
  • Troubleshoot system errors and issues in collaboration with payroll, finance and computer information systems partner functions related to the maintenance and updates of the Human Resources Information System.
  • Conduct analysis and make recommendations for system and process improvements that would enhance the employee experience, equity or effectiveness.
  • Support the performance review process by initiating review cycles and running assessments on performance process engagement.
  • Maintain accurate Human Resources records, surveys, reports, employee files, and procedural documentation.
  • Support Human Resources events, initiatives, and functions in collaboration with other members of the Human Resources Department.


Qualifications

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • A Bachelors degree and minimum of 2+ years of experience working in human resources functions or related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to communicate human resources policies and procedures to a variety of audiences.
  • Fluency using a variety of technological systems.
  • The ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

 


Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • A Masters degree in human resources or related field.
  • SHRM Certification or other relevant certificates.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Experience with payroll or finance processes.
  • Experience with Workday.
