Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Department of Data and Systems Engineering (Ref.: 530324), to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in systems engineering, data science, industrial engineering, computer science or a closely related field, with a strong commitment to quality teaching. They should have good interpersonal and communication skills in written and spoken English; and should be self-motivated, highly-organised and a good team player.
The appointee is expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses and develop final year project topics in, but not limited to, three subject clusters: (1) engineering management including project management, quality management, operations management, supply chain and logistics management, and engineering economics; (2) systems analytics including operations research, intelligent decision and analytics, industrial optimization; and (3) cyber-physical systems including robotics and automation, IoT (Internet of Things), digital twins, cyber-physical systems, and smart industrial systems.
The appointee will also participate in development and delivery of capstone courses, international exchange and global engineers programmes coordination, and student dissertations and projects supervision at B.Eng. and M.Sc. levels. He/She will also be expected to perform any other duties as assigned.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
