About the Opportunity

The Human Resources Manager serves as a liaison between upper management, the HR department, and employees to develop, enact, and monitor human resources initiatives and programs across business lines. It is a highly dynamic role, balancing direct oversight of HR efforts and employee relations with long-term strategic direction and implementation of employee hiring and retention plans to enhance business performance and profitability. Maintains and enhances the organization's human resources department by introducing, evaluating, and improving employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Leads and participates in developing and achieving corporate and department goals and objectives.
  • Manages complex and difficult HR projects cross-functionally.
  • Builds strong business relationships with the internal clients.
  • Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to cover risks.
  • Acts as the performance improvement driver and inspires positive changes in people management.
  • Develops HR team members to grow as HR Business Partners.
  • Developments and executes with a solid grasp of organizational development and strategic direction.
  • Guide efforts to align HR efforts with business goals.
  • Actively manages the offer and onboarding processes including hiring and onboarding.
  • Handles all employee relations issues, concerns and conflicts through to solution including counseling employees and managers, conducting fact finding meetings, completing investigations, and creating appropriate planning solutions.
  • Creates and implements the Argen culture initiatives, facilitating and managing all employee engagement activities.
  • Develops, updates, and implements policies and procedures, ensuring that all employment practices comply with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Drafts, manages and maintains company policies and the employment handbook.
  • Promotes continuous improvement of all processes and procedures within the human resources function.
  • Oversees benefits, leaves of absence and workers compensation administration.
  • Develops and maintains diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Completes compliance reporting from data collection to submission to the appropriate governing body including AAP, EEO-1, VETS-4212.
  • Maintains other records, reports and logs to comply with Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Actively assists in compensation planning.
  • HRIS data management, accuracy, upkeep and reporting.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring of supervisors and managers regarding employee relations, performance management, career pathing, and team development.
  • Creates and coordinates required and relevant training and development programs for employees, aligning with business needs.
  • Responsible for facilitating audit requests.
  • Manages and facilitates all onboarding, promotions, terminations, succession planning.
  • Works as a business partner with the management team to improve efficiency and grow the business talent.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What does it take to be a qualified candidate?

  • Bachelor's degree and five years' HR experience, or eight years' experience in the HR field is required.
  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Proven capability to compile and analyze employment data to guide strategic planning
  • Proactive self-starter that is comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and interacting with a diverse work force.
  • Ability to write and implement human resources policies, programs, and practices.
  • Expert in MS Office Suite, emphasis on Excel.
  • Ethical Conduct.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills to make data driven decisions.
  • Strong leadership.
  • Experience with creating a culture of engagement, collaboration and teamwork.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, report writing and implementation
  • Demonstrated effectiveness with written and verbal communication.
  • High level of experience in employee relations, Work Comp, Benefits, Compensation, Performance Management, and Leave Administration.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting investigations.
  • HRIS experience, ADP preferred.
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Visio
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and CA employment law

  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR/98-282, 93/42/EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD)R Sch3 preferred.
