Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides clerical and administrative support to the Director of Disability Services. Also responsible for performing functions and tasks associated with the preparation, delivery and maintenance of department services.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides general information regarding department services to students, faculty, staff, and members of the community.
• Supervises student employees including those participating in the federal work-study program.
• Oversees the maintenance and management of student records and files and is responsible for
ensuring that documents are retained in accordance with FERPA and HIPPA guidelines.
• Manages and updates student records on student information database and other department forms, calendars and spreadsheets as needed.
• Prepares requisitions and other accounting/purchasing/receiving documentation; records and tracks department expenditures.
• Produces or orders documents, files, or textbooks in alternative formats as needed.
• Prepares paperwork for the hire and payment of note-takers, scribes and readers.
• Compiles data and reports relevant to the delivery and efficacy of services.
• As needed, issues equipment or provides reader/scribe services to students.
• Assist department staff as needed to facilitate delivery of services to students.
• Participates in on-campus and off-campus events intended to promote the college and department services
• Performs tasks which may include but are not limited to responding to inquiries, answering calls, scheduling appointments, scanning, copying, and filing
• As assigned by the Director of Disability Services, future duties not specified in this job description that are essential and relevant to the delivery of services and support student success.Qualifications/Certifications/Licenses/Skills

Required:- Associates Degree
- Minimum of 6 months experience in an office setting.
- 60 hours of college credit earned
- Work experience in community college setting or working with individuals with disabilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skilled in human relations; knowledge of the socio-economic conditions and ethnic culture of the student body; ability to make group presentations and communicate in a positive, supportive, professional manner when interacting with students, parents, supervisor, staff and community members.
- Preference for Bilingual applicants (English and Spanish); computer word processing skills and knowledge in current computer technology; be able to work extended hours such as nights and weekends when needed.

Immediate supervision from Director of Disability Services.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
Work-inside a well-lighted and air-conditioned area most of the time.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Special Conditions
Immediate supervisor may assign other duties.
