About the Position
The Human Resource Generalist provides employee relations advocacy, advice, assistance and follow up on company policies, procedures, and documentation. Coordinates the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquires.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Education and Experience:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required sit for long periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing, required to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds and to operate computer systems. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.
Essential Mental/Sensory Abilities:
Able to work a flexible schedule that may include occasional nights and weekends.

About the Position
The Human Resource Generalist provides employee relations advocacy, advice, assistance and follow up on company policies, procedures, and documentation. Coordinates the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquires.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Responsible for all employee relations activities to include counseling and coaching.
- Carries out people and culture programs and procedures for all employees including staffing; performance management; compensation; benefits; leaves; disability; recognition; training; organizational development; communication; coaching; team building and leadership.
- Assists in organizational training and development efforts
- Identifies trends issues and recommends course of action
- Partners with the store management to assist in recruiting applicants by researching and contacting community services, attending events, colleges, employment agencies, and recruiters, etc.
- Demonstrate good working knowledge of employment laws.
- Manages investigations as needed.
- Processes documents and forms necessary for the implementation of various human resources policies, programs, plans, procedures, and practices.
- Maintains all necessary records and files to support review and audit.
- Assist in the management and administration of company benefit programs.
- Provide orientation, advice and ongoing information on human resources policies and procedures following up to include documentation.
- Assists with compiling, updating, verifying, generating and distributing department reports on personnel-related issues.
- Maintain human resource data bases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems.
- Travel frequently to geographic assignment.
- Uphold safe work practices in support of a safety culture through awareness and observation; train and educate employees of safety requirements; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- B.A. degree in Business, Psychology or equivalent course work or years of experience in related field such as Retail or Non Profit
- Skilled, Minimum One (1) year in employee relations/human resources.
- Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses:
- Excellent communication and organization skills are required.
- Project and team management/leadership skills and experience. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Capability of effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and thorough knowledge of human resource policies and procedures
- Investigative skills.
- Internal/external customer service skills are essential for all job functions.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Great Plains are required.
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements.
- PHR or SPHR preferred
- Must have valid WA driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.
