Job Description

Title:  Structural Engineer 3
Location:  San Diego, CA 92127
Duration: 12 months
Shift Timings: 9x80 A (Week 1: Monday and Tuesday in the office, Wednesday and Thursday WFH, Friday Off. Week 2: Monday and Tuesday in the office, Wednesday – Friday WFH)
Pay Rate: 60 - 70$/hr on w2 without benefits

Job Description:
  • Analyzes, researches, and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic, or composite structural materials for product design or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs.
  • Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowable, and structural modeling.
  • Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue, and thermal analysis.
  • Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer, and a variety of software applications. 
Training process:
  • The individual will get OJT to get them up to speed with the DaDT analysis process.
Basic Qualifications (required):
  • Competency with FEMAP and NASTRAN pre/post-processing
  • Significant experience with Fatigue/Damage Tolerance (DaDT) analysis.
Preferred Qualifications (desired):
  • Experience with the following tools: jFAMS, FASTRAN, DBI/SST, Catia V5, and Knotch
  • Experience with the following: Navy fatigue/DaDT methods and report writing, Regression analysis techniques to develop load transfer functions, linear elastic fracture mechanics, Strain-life fatigue analysis methodology
What is the ideal candidate's background including several years of experience?
  • Candidate 1/2 - Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 8 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis Or Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 6 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis.
  • Candidate 2/2 - Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 12 years’ experience including a background in aerospace structural analysis Or Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 10 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis.
