Position Summary
The Enrollment and Assessment Generalist provides intake, admissions, testing, registration, and other enrollment services to ABE, HSE, ESL, and Citizenship students and assists in the post-testing of students. This position enters student application, other student information, and test scores in the DAISI and Colleague systems.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Department Operations
- Assist student in completing registration forms and determining appropriate testing.
- Administer appropriate placement assessment tests to all students.
- Assist instructors, whenever possible, with pre- and post- testing of students
- Determine entry level for each student in all classes.
- Confer with students and assign to appropriate class based on student's scores on assessment test and students’ goals.
- Calls students to help them enroll and support program overall enrollment.
- Complete registration procedure for each student
- Provides Instructors with requested reports (e.g., CASAS and CASAS Goals test reports)
- Assists the McHenry Country Job Center and additional off-site locations with pre/post testing.
- Schedules students for test sessions.
- Prepares and compiles test equipment, materials, forms, and files for post-testing at MCC and at the community sites.
- Organizes and maintains all testing equipment, materials, and files in a secure area.
- Travel to Community sites as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Customer Service:
- Proctors the pre and post-tests adhering to the policies and procedures of the state ICCB and Basic Skills test instrument (e.g., CASAS, CASAS Goals).
- Assist students on the phone, in-person, via email and virtual web conferencing with general questions.
- Assists students with holds.
- Refer students when needing to consult with other Adult Education office staff.
- Work collaboratively with others (e.g., administration, colleagues, faculty, staff, and community organizations) to accomplish functions and keep with the college’s mission to ensure student success.
- Assists with recruitment efforts during registration.
- Collaborates with the advisors for the proper course and NRS placement of students.
- Communicates and facilitates the understanding of the college’s testing and registration process for Adult Education classes.
- Provides technology support to students and instructors in Adult Education.
- Assists students with MCC password resets, and log in credentials.
- Provides assistance to students with web-conferencing issues.
- Additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution or minimum of two years’ experience in detail-oriented and technology-oriented position
- Two years’ experience working in a technology-oriented job demonstrating general computer knowledge and skills.
- Two years’ experience in related area
- Bilingual (English/Spanish, English/Polish, English/Ukrainian, English/Russian)
- Experience working in an adult education environment.
Skills and Specifications- Ability to apply and adhere to all federal, state and College laws, regulations, and policies, including those that speak to student and employee confidentiality requirements, such as FERPA.
- Strong organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
- Strong critical thinking or problem-solving skills
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative to resolve or complete duties in a timely manner.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a wide range of co-workers, applicants, students, community members and vendors.
