DESCRIPTIONThe University of California, San Diego Health System seeks an individual with advanced knowledge in Windows workstation, application management and Printing device systems administration. The successful applicant will have a background in the installation, deployment, administration, security and maintenance of Windows and Peripheral devices in large enterprise (10,000+ device) environment. The incumbent will have demonstrated experience writing and editing complex scripts, namely PowerShell, used to perform system maintenance and administration. The candidate will show advanced knowledge of computer security best practices and polices including demonstrated experience securing management servers and workstations.
In conjunction with the enterprise systems teams, the incumbent provides system analysis, maintenance, and monitoring of systems and servers including installations, upgrades, patches, as well as documentation with primary responsibility for the implementation, management, support and maintenance of various system software products and hardware components that comprise enterprise computing infrastructure. Manages and supports the systems/hardware infrastructure and associated resources. Provides 7/24 problem management support and resolution for all applications and operating systems as part of the on-call rotation.
Incumbent will have advanced knowledge with a variety of software tools, including those related to support and implementation. Incumbents provide consultation and knowledge transfer with respect to system administration techniques and software components. The incumbent will have a good background in technical writing, documentation, and project management.
Possess advanced knowledge and experience in engineering and administering Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including design, implementation, and daily end-user support. Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of virtual machines and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers and application administrators, to ensure seamless integration of virtual desktops with the existing infrastructure.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSNine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training. Related experience: SCCM, Intune and/or Powershell experience.
Advanced knowledge of systems integration deploying complex systems integration solutions.
Advanced skills associated with system integration design, modification, implementation and deployment in a complex environment.
Demonstrated ability to develop complex conversion and system implementation plans.
Development and administration of formal technical training to users at a variety of levels.
Strong knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop architecture and services, along with experience in managing Windows Server and Windows 10/11 environments.
Working Knowledge of ITSM Practices.
ITIL Foundation Certification.
MCSA Certification Windows 10/11, Mobility or equivalent experience.
AZ-104 (Azure Administrator); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $104,900 - $198,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $50.24 - $95.26
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
