POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Career Ventures, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an opportunity for a Foreign Area Officer (FAO) Subject Matter Expert (SME). Previous experience as FAO, with significant skills in languages and regions identified as part of the project (Arabic, Korean, or Russian preferred):

• Participate in internal meetings and Weekly IPR sessions with AU/DLI
• Provide guidance and advice on FAO roles and functions in-country teams
• Provide guidance and advice on cross-cultural and intercultural competencies
• Collaborate with ISDs and native speakers in the development of learning strategies and lesson plans best suited to the needs and conditions of the advanced FAO (O-4 to O-6) target audience
• Assist with the development of FAO-relevant PE scenarios, events, and decision-making activities

Payrate: $75.00 Hourly

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Former Foreign Area Officer
• A background in creating curricula is preferred but not required
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of best practices for a FAO
• Self-motivation is mandatory
• Strong English and computer skills
