Program Specialist, Success Center
100% Remote within California, Must reside in California
 
We are seeking a Program Specialist to join the Foundation in its mission of benefiting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. The Foundation for California Community Colleges is on a mission to double its impact in the next 10 years. What You’ll Do
 
The Success Center’s role is to support the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office and Foundation in implementing the Chancellor’s Vision 2030. Our work is engaging, fast-paced, and ever-evolving and requires a passion for serving California community college students and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
The Program Specialist will support the Strategic Projects and Initiatives unit of the Success Center by participating in program and project planning, implementation, and reporting on student success initiatives.
  • Contributes to the Success Center’s ability to envision, design, and implement innovative student success projects that advance the systemwide goals of Vision 2030.
  • Provide project management support from start to finish, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, evaluating, and closing projects.
  • Works with team members to implement project plans including working with consultants, working with college practitioners, utilizing strategic communications, tracking progress and lessons learned, and presenting findings.
  • Independently researches specific policy and programmatic topics to develop subject matter expertise as needed. Monitors policy and other changes in those topic areas during the duration of the project.
  • Engages with high-level stakeholders such as the Chancellor’s Office staff and leadership and representatives from system professional organizations.
  • Represents the Foundation’s Success Center at meetings and events that may require travel both regionally and nationally.
  • Synthesizes complex data (quantitative and qualitative) and translates it into digestible findings or recommendations for a variety of audiences.
  • Synthesizes project findings and works with team members to identify how these findings can influence system level actions to improve student success.
  • Monitors requirements of grant agreements and contracts and tracks progress.

  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring that communications and deliverables are accurate, professional, and audience appropriate.

  • Ability to work effectively, accurately, with good judgment and with optimism in stressful, high-visibility situations.
  • Coordinate with many stakeholders and work in a complex policy and political environment with large teams of professionals.
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and good judgement, ability to take initiative, integrity, trustworthiness, respect, and team collaboration are required.
  • Ability to work remotely and navigate various technology platforms (Zoom, MS Office Suite-Teams, Outlook, Google Suite, etc.)

Budgeted Annual Salary Pay Range:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00
 
Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
