Position Title: Deputy Chief of Staff

Reports To: President and Chief of Staff

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Support and Planning:

  • Assist the Chief of Staff in developing and implementing strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Coordinate the execution of institutional priorities and ensure alignment with the institution's mission and goals.
  • Provide strategic advice and support to the President and senior leadership.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of special projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and successful completion of projects, managing resources and addressing any challenges that arise.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and status reports.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments and divisions.
  • Prepare and review communications, presentations, and reports for the President and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and engagements involving the President.

Policy and Governance:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of institutional policies and procedures.
  • Support governance processes, including the preparation of materials for Board of Trustees meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners.
  • Represent the President's Office in meetings, committees, and events as needed.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness within the President's Office.
  • Implement best practices and streamline processes to enhance productivity.
  • Manage office budgets, resources, and administrative functions.

Crisis Management:

  • Assist in the coordination of crisis management and emergency response efforts.
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans and protocols.
  • Support the President in addressing urgent and sensitive issues.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff within the President's Office.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Support professional development and growth opportunities for team members.

Job Requirements:
  • Master's degree in higher education administration, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education administration or a similar environment.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in project management and execution.

Additional Information:


Compensation (Salary Range):
 $105,000 - $110,00 (Commensurate with experience and qualifications)
