Position Summary 
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration of the Graduate School 
of Arts & Sciences (GSAS), the Graduate Student Worker Coordinator serves as 
the primary point of contact for graduate student workers and is responsible for 
managing processes related to the CWA contract. This role is primarily 
responsible for the appointment and reappointment of GSAS graduate student 
workers in collaboration with GSAS directors of Finance, Admissions, and 
Academic Operations and Support. Additionally, this role coordinates with the 
University Offices of Human Resources and Finance for onboarding and 
processing. 
    
 
Essential Functions 
Under the supervision of the GSAS Director of Finance and 
Administration, supports GSAS in managing processes related to the 
CWA, particularly regarding the appointment and reappointment of GSAS 
student workers. 
Maintains and updates comprehensive lists of full-time and part-time CWA 
members within GSAS, organized by department and program, to ensure 
accurate and up-to-date records. 
Tracks and monitors the eligibility of GSAS students to be considered 
members of the collective bargaining unit and other benchmarks, following 
University guidelines and deadlines. 
Manages and keeps accurate records of job descriptions for each position 
and other relevant information, in accordance with collective bargaining 
agreements. 
Handles inquiries and questions on graduate student workers for the 
GSAS Office from department chairs, program directors, faculty and 
support staff. 
Prepares and disseminates GSAS policy and procedures information 
related to graduate student workers for departments and programs and 
maintains this information on the GSAS website. 
In collaboration with the GSAS Directors of Admissions, Finance, and 
Academic Operations, produces letters with appropriate and accurate 
language indicating assignments of all members of the CWA whose work 
assignment forms part of their offer of admission and subsequent annual 
funding letters. 
Works with Admissions to present on CWA related matters during new 
admitted student events and orientations. 
Reviews, and onboards summer and academic-year GA student workers, 
with the assistance of Admissions, the Director of Finance and 
Administration, the Assistant Dean for Student Professional Development, 
and faculty members. 
Under the supervision of the GSAS Director of Finance and 
Administration, collects and monitors information and reports to the GSAS 
Dean on various graduate student worker situations, including department 
and program hiring requests, space, and equipment requests for the 
coming year; contract terms with student worker eligibility for hire the 
following year; personnel norms. 
Sends authorizations to department chairs, assembles hiring information 
from departments related to continuing student workers for the Finance 
Director and Director of Academic Operations’ review. 
Serves as the GSAS liaison to HR and other units for all matters related to 
graduate student workers’ status as workers. 
Supports the Director of Finance and Director of Academic Operations in 
evaluating and, if necessary, redesigning workflows related to graduate
student worker personnel processes. 
Designs and implements orientation, onboarding, and policy training. 
Collaborates with departments to initiate work assignments and schedules 
for student employees

Additional Functions 
In consultation with GSAS Director of Finance and Administration, collects and 
monitors information on programs, space, and equipment requests related to 
graduate student workers. 
 
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience 
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field 
Minimum of 2 years of experience 
 
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and other 
relevant software.   
Excellent communication skills. 
Comfortable interacting with students and faculty members in a 
professional and efficient manner. 
High level of interpersonal and intercultural communication and 
awareness. 
Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
Meticulous attention to detail. 
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality. 
Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to 
the goals of Jesuit Education. 
 
Preferred Qualifications 
3+ years experience in Higher Education 
 
Minimum Starting Salary: $65,000 
 
Maximum Starting Salary: $75,000 
 
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
