GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the oversight and expansion of NKF’s activities and capabilities in conducting patient outcomes research, with a focus on the NKF Patient Network. The NKF Patient Network aims to become the first national and international patient registry with the ability to collect both patient reported outcomes (PROs) and electronic health record (EHR) data to provide a full picture of the patient. The project will not only be patient interfacing but also researcher oriented with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement. It will lead to additional research opportunities through collaboration with Network partners and other external stakeholders.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Manages the day-to-day operational duties with Pulse Infoframe and other Network contractors. This includes overseeing quality control, liaising with other NKF departments to contribute expertise, management of timeline, deadlines and overall cash flow and budget.
- Runs NKF coordination, management and strategic planning with health system partners to ensure seamless execution of front-end and back-end syncing. Manage the consent development process, legal process for access to data in addition to other contract elements.
- Explores and facilitates patient outcomes research opportunities, within the Patient Network and with external partners such as health networks and academic nephrology departments.
- Coordinates strategic planning among key experts, most importantly among governance committees: technology, data input and integration, data use and publication and steering committee.
- Aligns registry technology with educational, data collection, and website strategy in addition to future activities lending value to the overall registry.
- Develops and assures a continuity of clear written and verbal communication to internal project leads, governance chairs and members, and NKF leadership. Proactively communicates information to volunteers and staff as necessary.
- Creates and manages ongoing timelines for all phases of Network expansion.
- Hires, trains and supervises Patient Network Engagement Director
- Performs additional duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- College graduate with degree in biomedical sciences. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management.
- Previous experience working in a non-profit or health care setting is preferred.
- General understanding of new technology in healthcare.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and all health care volunteers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with deadlines and time pressures and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving ability and strong attention to details.
- Flexible for overnight business domestic and international travel including weekends and weekdays.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.
- Verbal and written communication skills will be sued daily.
WORKING CONDITIONS, EQUIPMENT USED AND SPECIAL INFORMATION
Must have unimpeachable integrity and trustworthiness while possessing a high degree of tact, discretion and professionalism. Maintains effectiveness under pressure. Verbal and written communication skills will be used on a daily basis. Competency in use of a multiple-line telephone, personal computer, fax machine, photocopier and other standard office equipment. Ability to lift and transport event supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 lb. This position requires weekend/evening work and business trips annually (Estimate 3-4 trips per year). Must be flexible for overtime.

Salary Range: $100,000- 133,000
