Location - Remote - USA
Under the general supervision of the National Director, Military Outreach, the Director, Military Services – Army Youth Programs in Your Neighborhood (AYPYN) is responsible for initiating and providing consultation, support services and safety assessment and guidance to member AYPYN Affiliated Youth Centers; working in partnership with local school districts to build and grow their capacity to have the greatest mission impact on youth; implementing consultation services which expand the Boys & Girls Club Movement; and interpreting the goals and objectives of Boys & Girls Clubs of America to member affiliated youth centers.

Qualifications:
ABILITIES
High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, at all times displaying tact, maturity and flexibility. Must have good reasoning abilities and sound judgment. Physical requirements include sight, hearing, and sitting for four plus hours per day. Skills essential for successful communications include speaking and writing. Must be physically able to travel by air, car, train, or other modes of transportation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide Accountable Leadership to Autonomous Organizations
- Establish partner relationships with Lead and Senior staff in assigned affiliated youth centers and conduct orientations on services and resources available from Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Increase Organizational Capabilities
- Create and maintain the highest level of customer service and develop relationships with leadership and staff of assigned affiliated youth centers, the Superintendent of each School District and the Garrison School Liaison Officers. (SLO)
- Interface with all partners during Month of the Military Child (MOMC).
- Drive established military service priorities within identified program initiatives.
- Promote attendance of organizations’ leaders in assigned affiliated youth centers for appropriate learning opportunities including Military Leadership Institute, SLU, and regional and national professional development opportunities.
- Develop, implement, and support the professional development plans for Youth Director’s and key management staff.
- Provide consultative and technical assistance, leadership coaching, and the coordination of technical consultants, and services delivered by BGCA subject matter experts to Boys & Girls Clubs in assigned affiliated youth centers.
- Ensure the proper orientation, onboarding, and mentoring of new youth directors and key management staff.
Support Strategic Growth and Increase Impact
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned affiliated youth centers and BGCA.
- Assist assigned affiliated youth centers in developing and implementing programmatic outcomes in school age youth.
- Assist school age and youth center programs in analyzing internal and external data to create plans and strategies to increase participation and retention of members.
- Assist assigned affiliated youth centers in developing leaders at all levels of the organization.
Support Operations of Service
- Conduct and/or participate in state, regional, and national staff meetings and conferences.
- Conduct one face-to-face meeting annually per organization; and a minimum of three quarterly virtual consultations that support organizational goals and program needs.
- Conduct safety assessments to validate core standards and priorities and develop remediation plans as needed, in partnership with Army IMCOM with ~50% of sites annually.
- Demonstrate BGCA mission driven ICARE values and integrate these beliefs into our environment and ways of work.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in BGCA’s employee handbook and ethics policy.
- Conduct quarterly business review, analyze, and interpret affiliated youth centers’ alignment to their annual plans.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates proficiency in facilitation of training.
- Will attain National Trainers Certification at both Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels.
- Ensures use of Director, Military Services consultation guide during in-person and virtual organization consultations.
- Support M&OS led initiatives such as the Military Teen Summit, School Liaison trainings, and other events as identified throughout the year.
- Support and encourage submission of grants, awards, and in-kind funding opportunities with identified portfolio.
- Complete all required scheduling and reporting requirements as outlined by National Director, Military Outreach.
- Lead and support Military Youth of the Year requirements and events, as assigned.
- Promote all M&OS events and information geared towards Military connected organizations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or social services or education/experience equivalency required
- Minimum five years’ experience in the management, administration and operation of a Boys & Girls Club or Affiliated Youth Center (or similar organization) or seven years’ experience working in the field of organizational development and non-profit consulting
- Demonstrates proficiency in relationship building and partnership development.
- Demonstrated experience in safety assessment of facilities and child abuse prevention preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Proficient in the development of PowerPoint decks and other types of presentations.

ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Normal internal working environment.
- Approximately 60-70% travel.
- The position requires possession and maintaining of a valid driver’s license and be able to navigate areas of the country.
